Food Increases Risk of Miscarriage – The period of pregnancy is certainly one of the times that is very vulnerable, diet is one of the determinants of the risks received during pregnancy.

Consumption of alcohol by pregnant women also has the risk of triggering a fetus born with facial, heart, and intellectual disabilities. Since it is not known how much alcohol is safe during pregnancy, pregnant women are advised to avoid alcohol completely.

3. Pineapple

The bromelain content in pineapple can soften the cervix and start labor contractions prematurely, which can lead to miscarriage. If pineapple is consumed in large quantities, namely 7 to 10 whole fruits, this can trigger bleeding.

Actually, pregnant women can eat pineapple in small to moderate amounts during the early stages of pregnancy. However, it is always best to consult a medical practitioner first.

4. Aloe vera

Aloe vera is a plant known for its tremendous health benefits. However, pregnant women need to avoid eating aloe vera.

Aloe vera consists of anthraquinones, a type of laxative that causes uterine contractions and pelvic bleeding, which in turn leads to miscarriage. Even so, applying aloe vera gel to the face during pregnancy is not dangerous.

5. Processed and raw meat

Pregnant women need to avoid eating processed meats, such as sausages, salami, and pepperoni. This is because this meat contains bacteria that can trigger food poisoning, such as Toxoplasma gondii, Listeria or Salmonella.

In addition, pregnant women also need to avoid eating undercooked or raw meat because raw meat contains bacteria that can cause problems during pregnancy, such as miscarriage, premature labor, or stillbirth. So, meat must be properly cooked and reheated before consumption.
